Jazz Kartel Ensemble is a non-profit organization based in Verdun, Quebec, officially incorporated on January 6, 2017, with the Registraire des entreprises du Québec (Quebec Enterprise Registrar).
Some of our mission’s key objectives are to:
- Present themed concerts for the enjoyment of the community and to raise funds for various local charitable organizations.
- Foster a vibrant musical environment that benefits the entire community and inspires young people to learn and appreciate music.
- Offer musical services to the City of Montreal as part of its cultural programming.
The Ensemble is a 17-piece big band dedicated to promoting public music education, celebrating culture, and rekindling a love of jazz. Big band consists of 17 musicians—five saxophonists, four trombonists, four trumpeters, a guitarist, pianist, bassist, and drummer—under the direction of a musical director.
Durant des années, les répétitions se sont tenues au local Musicopratik de Verdun. Depuis octobre 2023, l’ensemble a établi un partenariat avec le BGC Dawson Community Centre de Verdun.
Over the years, Jazz Kartel Ensemble has presented a wide variety of performances and has earned a respected reputation within Montreal’s cultural landscape.
