Conference on the Italian Pavilion – Expo 67

Details

Expo 67 with its theme Man and His World, continued the tradition of showcasing the finest social, cultural, scientific, and technological achievements from participating countries. The exposition marked the centennial of Canadian Confederation and reflected the economic boom of two decades following the Second World War. In Italy, a time of rapid and remarkable growth, known as the Italian economic miracle, was a source of pride to be shared. This talk, focusing on the Italian Pavilion designed by architects Piro, Antonelli, Greco, and Rossi with local architects Papineau Gérin-Lajoie Leblanc architects, will explore the ways in which the pavilion’s architecture embodied this transformative period in Italy.
