Laurie and Adam Duo
Laurie and Adam are a sister-and-brother duo united by a shared passion for music. Laurie is a singer-songwriter, while Adam performs alongside her as a percussionist and drummer. Both hold degrees in music and released their debut single, Elle, in 2023. They followed this with their first full-length performance at the Québecor Song Weekends at Place des Arts. In 2024, they released their debut EP, Dent-de-lion.
With a natural chemistry and engaging stage presence, Laurie and Adam create an intimate musical world through original songs that blend heartfelt storytelling with contemporary sounds. Laurie’s evocative lyrics give voice to emotion and everyday life, while Adam grounds the music with rich rhythmic textures, combining drums with percussion instruments from musical traditions around the world.
Laurie
Singer-songwriter Laurie is a founding member of the duo Laurie and Adam. Originally trained as a pianist, she began studying jazz piano at CEGEP before continuing her education at university, where she developed a musical approach rooted in sensitivity and attentive listening.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Music and Communications from the Université de Montréal and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Performance (Singer-Songwriter profile). Throughout her studies, she had the opportunity to work with renowned musicians including Yves Léveillé, François Bourassa, and Gino Quilico.
Alongside her musical career, Laurie has developed a strong background in communications, which enriches her artistic vision and shapes the meaningful connections she creates with audiences.
Adam
Adam Gagné is a percussionist and drummer who graduated from Cégep de Saint-Laurent and is currently studying at UQAM under the guidance of Luc Boivin. A founding member of the duo Laurie and Adam, he explores a broad sonic palette, blending technical skill, intuition, and creativity in every project.
His musical journey began at the age of eight with the drum set. He later studied classical percussion at the Vincent-d’Indy School of Music under Philippe Beaudin, before turning his focus to Latin percussion at Cégep de Saint-Laurent, where he studied with Mélissa Lavergne.
Driven by a passion for discovering new textures and forging a distinctive musical identity, Adam designs original multi-percussion setups that combine sounds inspired by musical traditions from around the world.
